FRAPP'S flow-reactor




Introduction micro reactor equipment can be divided into micro mixer, micro heat exchanger and micro reactor according to its main purpose or function. Because of its internal microstructure, the micro reactor equipment has a large specific surface area, which can be hundreds or even thousands of times of the specific surface area of the stirred tank. Micro reactor has excellent heat and mass transfer ability, which can realize instantaneous uniform mixing of materials and efficient heat transfer. Therefore, many reactions that cannot be realized in conventional reactor can be realized in micro reactor.

1. definition of microreactor

Micro reactor, i.e. microchannel reactor, is a micro reactor with a characteristic size between 10 and 300 microns (or 1000 microns) manufactured by precision machining technology. The "micro" of the micro reactor means that the channel of the process fluid is at the micron level, rather than the small overall size of the micro reaction equipment or the small output of the product. Microreactor is a broad concept and has many forms, including not only traditional microreactor, but also polymerization reactor, reversed micelle stripe reactor, micropolymerization reactor and solid template microreactor. The common characteristic of these microreactors for chemical reactions is that they are controlled in a very small space, and the average size of the reaction channel is generally micron or even nanometer. The micro reactor can contain millions of micro channels, so it can also achieve a high yield.

2. possible process of microreactor

With the traditional kettle reactor, the heat released from the reaction can not be released in time, and the reaction temperature can not be accurately controlled. Therefore, the reaction speed is often artificially limited, otherwise explosion may occur.

Micro reactor can overcome the shortcomings of kettle reactor. If the prediction about micro reactor is correct, it will be a thorough reform of chemical process. This new chemical process is bound to have broad application prospects. Many academic reports have made a comparison between traditional reactor and micro reactor, and found that the application of micro reactor can strengthen the reaction process better than the traditional reactor.
